I am having trouble with certain calls breaking through their Anonymous Call Rejection feature that their tech service can't/won't fix or troubleshoot.
In the last 3 months I have received about 10 calls that get through the Anonymous Call Rejection feature (a lot of them do get blocked). These problem calls are not forwarded to the anonymous caller voicemail system, instead they ring through as regular calls and show up with "unavailable", "restricted", and occasionally "1-518-000-0000 New York Call", where 518 is my area code. The caller always asks for me and then hangs up (or the call drops?). Stalking-like and annoying, but not directly harassing - likely a telemarketer.
The tech service department at Von*ge says that everything is "normal" in the logs and they can't do anything besides change my number. These calls show up in the log as "Restricted" calls but not forwarded to the ACR voicemail. - so the feature is not working.
Anyone else have these issues??? Is it hardware based problem??? I checked the adapter traffic and the only errors where a failure to TFTP an XML file from the Vonage server. - Is this my problem?

I can't troubleshoot for Vonage but at least I can put you wise to the FTC's no-call registry number. You call 888-382-1222 from the number you wish to block from telemarketers and punch in your number into their database. Then the callers have 31 days to delete you from their lists, or add you to their no-call list.... Not sure how that works, but if they don't it is supposed to be a violation of federal law to call you after 31 days.
I suppose some cynic will say yeah right, but I don't get any sales calls, so it must work. |

Some calls do get through the restriction, in my case also. Does not seem to block numbers from a "restricted" number, as I still get calls from Rite-Aid regarding renewing precriptions, etc. |

From what information I have, Restircted is being looked into but it does not follow the same "method" as the other filters. It may or may no be possible with the current architecture. |

This bartender I know named Lisa used to get this breather calling her at work, so when he would call she would get out her whistle and blow the sap's ear drum smooth out the other side of his head.
But then too, they make those hand-held horns that the Coast Guard can hear five miles away.... |
