I've been checking the Vonage availability screen for my area code. I'm starting to see area codes with the message "Out of Stock" in red. Any idea what that message means? |

No sarcasm intended... it means they are out of stock. |

No sarcasm detected, but out of stock for certain area codes only? I don't think so. Go to vonage.com and under availability, look at area codes in Illinois. You will see what I mean. |

No sarcasm intended...the areas that read "out of stock" are out of stock. |

Perhaps phrased in a slightly different way-- Vonage only has a certain quantity of numbers available in each area code. When they run out of new numbers to issue in a particular city/area code, they are listed as Out of Stock until they get additional allocation.

Why don't you think so? Area codes and numbers aren't unlimited and as a CLEC, Vonage only gets so many numbers at a time (however many they file for).. so when they are used up.. they are out of stock until more arrive. make sence? Why is this confusing? |

Thanks Rebus, that clears things up for me.
Matth, my confusion had to do with "what" was out of stock. I did not realize it meant telephone numbers in a specific area code. That was never mentioned.
