Depends which province you pay get and pat that is. You won't get the unlimited plan for $24.99 unless you ask for it and they agree.

I haven't heard of any rate increas.

I'm in BC. I tried the online signup process to see if I could port my Vonage number but it said I could not.
It was a virtual number when I first received it but then it was converted to my primary number and is the only number on my account now.

Anyone know why Vonage can't port their own number?

I would say because it already belongs to Vonage. You are trying to port a U.S number to Canada and maybe that is the reason why it was rejected. In your case I would try and call Vonage directly.

Just joined Vonage Canada.

After seeing forum posts I called Vonage billing and asked for the $24.99/mo for the premium unlimited residential.

Got it for that price for the life on my contract, after the support person put me on hold and talked to his supervisor.

They even waived the plan change fee.

Thanks everyone for keeping us all informed.

Strongly suggest everyone calls. If you don't ask you will never receive.

Glad you called again to get a deal. Times are tough for companies so I figure if they get a little it is better than nothing.

They have a limited selection of area codes that can be used. You are right though $8.99 is a good price for Canada only.

If Vonage ever does go down, I will just use my cell phone, I have free incoming calls and can use Grand Central to place all my calls.

Hi guys, I just stumbled upon this forum yesterday.

I wanted to thank you for the heads up on the $24.99 Canadian Residential Unlimited Plan.

I was on the $19.99 500 minute plan, so I called up to make the switch. After the first transfer from the initial rep. I was transferred to someone higher up, and they made the switch for me.

Crazy thing is... she said, "Yes Sir, the only difference in the plan advertised on the website, and this plan, is a difference of $15 per month." Well that's a pretty big difference!

Anyway...thanks again!

There hasn't been any post here in just over a year. Does anyone know whether Vonage can still be "talked into" giving this deal? And now that the Premium Unlimited $39.99 plan is grandfathered with the introduction of the new Canada World Plan at the same price of $39.99 (and with "unlimited" calling to 60+ countries), this whole question becomes even more interesting.
