Hi,

Am trying to setup Vonage (in India for my parents) remotely. ISP is reliance broadband. Vonage device is Motorola VT2142. I get this error as
This telephone line cannot register to the Vonage network.
I tried rebooting the network. There is *no* PC attached. Set up is like this : Reliance Modem (dsl or cable, not sure) -> Motorola VT2142. There is *no* pc at all. The same setup worked here at US.
Help me install my vonage!!!

Thanks. It still speaks error as
"this Vonage line is not setup for use and has no telephone number assigned to it".

I remember reading somewhere that I have to use DHCP instead of PPPoE as I input the username and password through webpage. Is that correct?

Thanks. I tried with DHCP and also PPPoE. My authentication is actually through webpage, so DHCP is what I should use, I suppose. But the connection is still not going through. With DHCP config in http://192.168.15.1 it is asking for Server IP Address. It is not allowing that field to be empty, can you please suggest me what I should enter in tihs?

Hi,
I desperately need some help configuring my Vonage adpater to work with reliance broadband. My problem is that if i connect only the modem (zxdsl 831) + computer i can connect to the internet but if i add model(zxdsl 831)+ Vonage adapter(vt2442) + computer i can't access the internet. I tried to configure my Vonage adapter to PPPOE,DHCP and static but no matter what i do i cant get it to work.
I followed miltonroads steps to configure the adapter with no luck.


The current status is that with the DHCP settings the WAN and LAN both show up as connected and i see the IP address on the home page but the provisioning status shows up as unprovisioned. Also when i check the Status of the WAN in the connections tab i see not connected and IP is NA. The Power light blinks once but doesn't show up as solid. I cant access the internet thorugh the Vonage adapter nor can i make any phone calls on the Vonage phone.

Can someone please offer any suggestions.

Hmm.. me too facing the same issue. DHCP, PPPoE nothing worked for me.

My Vonage line is active. I called up reliance customer care and they say that you have to enter the username/pwd in the webpage to authenticate. So there seems to be no way to store the username/pwd in the Vonage router.

Please keep me posted if you get to solve this issue.
