Posted: Fri Feb 29, 2008 4:38 pm Post subject: Comcast will not allow porting of Distinctive Ring number.

Trying to port DR line from Comcast. Vonage can not port a main number and a DR number together, which is the only way Comcast will allow it.

Vonage requested me to remove the DR feature from the line, after doing this, Comcast placed the number in disconnected status.

I am sort of stuck here...

What is really awful is that Comcast is asking customers to switch to their DigitalVoice service, which does not support virtual numbers or DR. Just trying to do something with my DR lines before Comcast ends its regular phone service and they won't let me take the numbers.
