Lately my caller ID has stopped saying the name and only gives the location of the call. For example:

Scottsdale, AZ
480-445-1234

Wireless NH
603-512-1234

Houston, TX
713-344-1234

I am SERIOUSLY annoyed! Anyone else having this problem?

The phone companies of the folks calling you haven't listed their phone numbers in whatever caller ID name database is being used, likely either Targus or Verisign.

Mine has started doing that lately too.

CA Wireless
NV Wireless
SD LVTG

Etc.

This changed around Feb 20th. Anyone else notice it? Check your online account and view the ID of the same number prior to Feb 20th and after that date.

folks, could this be a local or regional issue? I just checked my caller ID for the last few days and nothing has changed for me. I'm in MO.

vonage customer for 2 1/2 yeas and have always had the name of the caller displayed if available - something changed at least in NY (Long Island) - occasionally get name but mostly its

town name NY w/phone number below

last time it displayed correctly was Feb 28 at 4:11 PM.

not happy about this and hope it gets corected.

I've been having the same problem too. It's very strange because numbers that came up before, don't come up anymore, and says just the city, state, and phone.

Now on the other hand, my gf's cell phone now says her name and phone number, whereas before, it was just 'cell phone' and number.

Strange stuff....

I'm in the Phoenix metro area, and it's been happening to me recently, when it didn't happen before.

I noticed a couple of weird things. One is that if I go to the call log
on the web site, the proper names and numbers are there.

The other is that I've been receiving a call that comes in as "unknown name/number" on my caller ID. However if I look on the call log, the number is there (no name still)
