Well after two years I am canceling. I called to get a upgrade of my Vonage device to a wireless Vonage device they couldn't help me.

I am not going to let them auto renew me for two years when they cant help me with there special equipment. It isnt my fault I cant buy what ever I want and use it with Vonage unlike other company's let you do.
I was told its not secure enough. I was like so these other company's are more secure then Vonage the #1 digital phone service. He said no I didn't mean it like that.

So heres Good Bye Vonage.
Open up and let us use what we want instead of limit us to crappy routers models to choose from.

Why didn't you just buy a wireless router? Or a wireless Vonage adapter from a box store?

I have the original adapter in the closet as a back up.

6.2 Automatic Renewal.
The terms of this agreement automatically renew for the same term unless you call us to cancel your service before the end of your current service term. 1-VONAGE-HELP (1-866-243-4357) The renewal begins on the day after the last day of your term.

I made sure they didnt sign me to a contract and got the next 2 months free and my bill is $14.99 a month instead of $24.99 for a year.

Are you saying that you are cancelling yoru service because you did not get a free hardware update?

When you want a new cell phone, does your cell phone company give you a free phone without asking you to extend your contract? Vonage is not doing anything different than the cell companies.

When my adapter eventuallu fails, I expect that I will have to buy a new one, call Vonage and have them register my number sto the new adapter. I do not expect them to give me a free adapter.

You must not be part of the new "beggar" generation, who expect everything to be given to them.

He (nighthalk) first said he cancelled, because they would not give him new equipment and he was under the assumption that his contract auto renews for another two years WITHOUT any benefit. I think that is an incorrect assumption.

Then it appears he talked to Vonage, who gave him 2 months free and unlimited service for 14.99 vs 24.99 without a commitment, ie month to month.

I wonder if the 14.99 is for the 500 minute plan. If unlimited, nice deal!
