My results from the Voip speed test on this site are now inline with results from other testing sites.

I had no clue if "this site" meant this forum or the site referred to in the previous post, so I went back and did a check with both of them. Yup SOS. LOL
Here's the forum one first then the other one second. I ran the forum one a bit ago but lost the readings somehow, or I would have had a QoS reading in the 60s. EEWWWW.

Forum results:

Speed test statistics
---------------------
Download speed: 10406976 bps

Supported lines: 148? With those crappy readings? Anyway, thanks but I only have the one. LOL
Hmmm. The other guy only gave me 95 lines. This is starting to get absurd. Rolling Eyes

Just wondering out loud here, but my last gateway/router got defective and when it did it showed poor upload speed -- about a third of the advertised speed. Now I am showing poor jitter numbers (inbound) for a while now. Wonder if it's my Actiontec, and if I should be singing its praises like I do. Confused

I was referring to the speed test within this forum. My results from this forum are now more inline with the other testing sites.

Wonder how come it botches mine then....
It rates them anywhere from one-half to two-thirds of what they are supposed to be.

What speeds (upload and download) should you be getting? Try the following speed test sites and see if they are comparable to each other.

http://speakeasy.net/ and http://speedtest.net/

Does it make any sense that you can support 138 lines with a QoS of 38%?????
I ran these two tests as soon as possible together. Use the forum one all you want, and be happy, but I KNOW it is defective and have removed it from my bookmarks.

Is there a link that will tell me why I would want to trust this thing when it can't even read my speeds correctly?

Maybe I have to throttle my speed down to keep it from acting up, since you seem to have proper readings with this thing. Me? I have to go elsewhere. And that was even when I only had 15/2 speeds. It just can't seem to go over 10megs -- or assign a score of over 4.2 for that matter. Not that I need some gizmo to tell me I have good call quality, but if I can go elsewhere and it tells me I am at 4.4 from Dallas to Sydney (well, actually 4.36) then I have to wonder why this thing is so lagging behind other test sites.

Or why anybody would want to defend it....

I wouldn't be overly concerned with the results you're seeing from the forum test site. The true test of your Voip connection is the quality of your phone conversations. As long as the call clarity is excellent for you and the caller, that's all that really matters most.

There is no standard formula to conver loss/pause/jitter into MOS score and hence it's difficult to compare the MOS scores presented by different tests. I wouldn't read much into the MOS scores reported by various tests. Moreover, a lot depends on how a real Voip
playout mechanism handle the jitter/loss and the score reported have even less meaning. In summary two different implementation could give you two different MOS scores even when presented with identical stream/network conditions.
