Hi Guys,

I am using Comast (cable) and my Vonage service is very unreliable with them. When I connect both the Vonage box and the Comcast box, my Internet connection is extremely slow at times, and sometimes there is a total outage. The phone quality is so-so.

Do you know if Comcast is having problems when you use Vonage?

Can you recommend another Internet provider in Maryland?

Thanks in advance.

You should start by posting all the information in the sticky message at the top of the forum. It would be helpful to know what equipment you are using. I assume you have a cable modem that is plugged into a Vonage router/adapter unit. Also, run the speed tests both with and without the Vonage adapter in between your computer and modem. Could be your Vonage router going bad or it could be bad service from comcast. But, with a little more information and running some tests, you should be able to determine the problem.

EDIT: Sorry I didn't really answer your question. No I don't know of any other provider. However you should be able to get Vonage to work well with comcast. You either have bad equipment or comcast needs to fix some issues at your place to improve the internet service.

You might look at Verizon FIOS (fiber optic) and see if it is available in your neighborhood: http://www22.verizon.com/Content/ConsumerFiOS/
I couldn't be happier with the service, even if you have to deal with the IQ-challenged lady on the automated system. Very Happy

Maybe it's deliberate. I just ran across this post on here that may answer your question:
