I have been using Vonage for about two weeks. I place frequent calls to landline numbers in Italy. I have noticed the following:
-Very often, when I dial the number I get a recording in spanish or english telling that the call cannot go through, and I have to try again multiple times before being successfull
-Occasionally I experience dropouts during conversations
-Frequently, my counterparts in Europe hear me with significant delay; I can hear them very well instead
-No problems at all in local/domestic calls

My configuration include the Vonage basic modem and a wireless Lynksys router. I don't use wireless for Vonage

I tried to reset the hardware and to reduce bandwidth through the control panel, but nothing seems to be changing

Since US call work fine, it sounds to me lie a problem outside your Vonage set-up. I would call Vonage customer support to see if they can help.

I had a similar problem calling France. I had to call Vonage several times but now is somewhat fixed. I don't know how they transfer the lines, probably using the Web but they have a problem there.
My correspondant in Paris did not have problems with any other calls so it got to be my line.

Post the results of your speed test. Perhaps you have some high latency that is affecting your international calls.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. You need to post the complete results from the test. The other information in the test is far more important than the actual speed.

You might want to activate the international call setting in the online account settings. Go to www.vonage.com sign in and then go to features and then click on international calling, click configure and click on enable and hit submit, wait 2 mins, and it should work. Also don't forget you would need to know the international phone numbers that you are calling. like the country code, the city code and the person phone number. like this 011-054-341-5555
