My wife will be going out of the country next week and will have internet access via satellite. I checked the codecs on Voange Talk and they seem to be pretty forgiving with regard to bandwidth. I also found it works pretty well over a Verizon aircard, which really surprised me.
Has anybody had experience with Vonage Talk over Satellite? If so how did it perform?

I would say it works the same as Vonage over satellite, the pits. I haven't used it over satellite, but I have used it over a wireless internet that was really slow and the results were horrible. I guess all you can do is try it out.

Other Voip providers will tell you the same thing: Talking via satellite is dicey. You take your chances. If you live where it snows get ready to get your broom out and shovel the snow off your dish if you want to make a call. And I am NOT fooling.
Same goes for when it's raining heavily.
