I have the V-Portal and am wondering if there is a way to adjust the incoming and outgoing call volume? Calls just seem way too loud on several different phones in our house and I've had a bit of distortion even being reported on the other end by people we're calling. It's not a huge deal, just wondered.

For what it's worth, I have the bandwidth setting to highest and the clarity is great, it's just too loud and my phone volume controls are as low as they go.

Try lowering the bandwidth setting. I have suggested before that I think the bandwidth setting almost acts like a volume setting. I use 30kbps all the time and the only thing I notice by using 90kbps is that the volume is much louder even when the volume setting on my phone remains unchanged. That is how my equipment works anyways. Give it a try.

Any luck with lowering the volume by adjusting the bandwidth saver? If not, you should give tech support a call. They can probably make some adjustments even when you are using the 90kbps setting.

Nothing really different. I didn't try the 30 kbps setting, but I don't want to go that route really. I'd rather keep it as high as possible. I may give tech support a phone call and see what they say. I would be nice to be able to just drop the volume a bit. I honestly think that part of my issue is my phone system. I purchased a new AT&T cordless system just after I went to Vonage about a month ago, and it appears to have a higher volume all together. It links to my cell phone via bluetooth, and it also is quite a high volume. I'll give tech support a call and post back anything they say which is helpful. Thanks!!

I just got off the phone with Tier II. He had me try a few tests with several of my phones in the house. It appears that the trouble is my new AT&T EP5632 cordless phone system. When I used the Panasonic KX-TGA56 system, the volume dropped dramatically on both my end and his end. So now I'm calling AT&T to see what I can do about the phone trouble with the 5632 system. Grrr! At least it isn't a Vonage issue.
