I've tried to search the fourms to find an easy answer to my problem, but no luck. I've had my Vonage service for a few years now, and have just moved to a place where there is no cable or DSL service. There is a wireless network, in which they supply a Linksys WUSB11 Wireless Adapter. I can't figure out how to connect it with my Vonage modem model VT1005V. I've tried the bridge connection, but can't seem to get it to work. I've run the Voip test and have gotten an MOS score of 3.5 and a maximum of 9 simultaneous connections. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have both an XP (preferred) and a Vista system. Thanks!! |

What you're trying to do can probably be done, but I doubt that you'll ever really be happy with it, since it involves bridging from a USB compatible device, like your computer, to the Vonage ethernet device. That would mean keeping your computer running all the time if you want continuous phone service.
I think the most satisfactory solution to your problem would be to buy an ethernet wireless access point, and use that to establish an ethernet port for your VT1005. I'm not familiar with them, but it looks as if a Linksys WAP54G might be suitable. Hopefully someone else can jump in on that point. |
