Just purchased a used ip 8100 vtech phone system. I plugged everything in and most of it works. The problem I am having is no calls are ringing in. I see when looking at units status its still has the last owners vonage number in it, how do I go about changing it. I would guess it might be my problem. Thanks |

I assume you're an active Vonage customer. Have you registered this VoIP phone with Vonage? It won't work if you don't. Unfortunately, they are usually a bit sticky about registering used equipment, but it can't hurt to try.
After you've registered it, either by calling them or going to your online account page, you need to go on line to your account page and move your active Vonage line to it. |

I am a paid subsciber to their service I just wanted to upgrade my phones and could not afford new. Why would they have a problem with used equipment if you pay for their service? Seems odd, is anything related to them supposed to be thrown away after you use it even if there is nothing wrong with it ? |

I can't speak for them, but I suspect that some of the used equipment is stolen and they want to discourage that. Also, some legitimate users leave Vonage without paying their bills and want to sell their equipment. They want to discourage that, too. But give them a call. Things change and they may not give you any trouble at all. |
