I upgraded from a 900khz phone to one which is 5.8ghz, there were no changes to the Vonage set-up other than swapping out the phones. Everythin works excep the computer when the phone is in use. My net gear wireless router is wgr614. 2.4ghz. any thoughts?

did you have this problem with the 900 Mhz phone?

I did an installation using this exact router with 5.8 Ghz phones and all works together harmoniously. Any spurious and interfering harmonic that a 5.8 Ghz Low Power transmitter could produce would be WAY out of the 2.4 Ghz band so it, probably, can't be attributed to the phone.

Run a speedtest to determine if you are having a, transient, broadband issue and, when in doubt, reboot your modem, router and Vonage Voip device.

it is a wireless issue I beleive because XBOX live works fine while phoning,, XBOX is wired directly to the netgear wireless. I hard wired the computer to the netgear and it also worked fine while phoning

WOW, that's weird. I have (2) sets of 5.8 GHZ phones, one for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. Neither of them interfere with the operation of my laptops WiFi connection.

This may be one for the X-Files.

How far is the phone base from the wireless router and from the computer? Even with the different frequencies, it's possible that something is overloading if things are too close together.

Please excuse the ignorance here, but I believe there are 5.8Ghz phone systems (at least in the beginning) where the base to the handset operates within that frequency (5.8GHz) but from the headset back to the base it operates on 2.4 Ghz. You may have one of these phone systems and can interfere.

You're right. That has appeared as an issue here in the past.
