Issue started tonight, I can receive calls but can't make them. I have rebooted the adapter twice without any change in behavior. I was able to make a call this morning but sometime during the day I lost the ability.
Setup is Motorola Cable Modem ->Vonage Motorola Phone Adapter ->Netgear wireless router on Comcast Internet. Since the router is downstream there isn't a port/natting issue.
Is anyone else in Chicagoland experiencing this issue? |

1.5 hours to do 5-7 test calls and a reboot of the adapter with no resolution, refusal to transfer me to a supervisor or Tier 2. What a great experience that was. Apparently my outbound calls aren't registering with Vonage, not sure what that really means but I don't think the "support tech" had any idea. They took the debug logs from the adapter and sending to them a subject matter expert and will get back to me.
So anyone else have any ideas? |

Me and my neighbor are both having the same problem. We can receive calls fine, cannot make outbound calls. After dialing there is just dead air. Both on Comcast in Chicagoland (Forest Park).
My setup...
Motorola Cable Modem - Linksys Router - Motorola Phone adapter
Also having problems getting to some websites (Google and gMail especially) only through laptops. Have tried 6 different laptops (3 XP, 2 Vista, 1 Mac OSX Tiger) and have issues wired or wireless. Two desktops running Vista have no issues except occasional slowdowns, one desktop running Mac OSX Tiger is having the same issues as the laptops.
I have no idea how any of this is related or why it even could be related, but it is aggravating. I am not even going to bother with comcast support tonight. |

Have you run the Voip speed test? This can tell you if it is an internet connection problem. If you and your neighbor are having problems, it sounds like an ISP problem. |

I am in Lombard, and have no issues on the net at all tonight. I had an MOS of 4.1 earlier this evening and the quality of the incoming calls is perfectly fine. Glad to hear there are others having the same issues. The fact that I get dead air on outbound calls and inbound calls are perfect makes me think the issue is on Vonage's end and not Comcast. If it were a Comcast issue I would think there would be issues on inbound and outbound equally, and not outbound only. |

Sounds like a similar issue here in nh. I hear a dial tone but some calls never ring. The other end does hear the ringing but when they pick-up no one is there. I never hear them pick up , just dead air.
called Vonage tech. they could not get the same calls to go through either. same results. they called on a land line and got through just fine.
after 1.5 hours working with a Vonage tech it seemed to get better but yesterday it continued to happen. not all calls, not all locations. once a location acts up that location does not work . |
