My original number ported yesterday!! Woo hoo! Dancing

It took almost exactly 1 calendar month to port, which I guess equates to 20 business days, so they were right on schedule.

Interestingly, people can now call both my ported number and my temporary number and get through.

Anyone know how long until the temp number will no longer work?

While you were waiting for your number port, did they update your status in the dashboard or did it just say, request sent to carrier until they updated it with a port date? I'm patiently waiting. My 20 bus. days ends on 12/31.

The actual "Dashboard" always said (at the bottom right of the page):

Here is what is on the page found by Clicking on the "Existing Phone Number Transfer Status" link:

Updated Date: Number Transfer Progress History:
November 23, 2004 Awaiting Letter of Authorization
November 24, 2004 Letter of Authorization (LOA) Received
November 24, 2004 Transfer Sent to Carrier
December 21, 2004 Carrier Approved Transfer
December 21, 2004 Completed LNP Transfer


So as you can see, the "Approved" date and the "Completed" date are the same. So I didn't really have any advance notice of when it would be complete. In fact, I didn't open the emails they sent me about it until the morning of the 22nd.

Maybe longer. We're on day 22 and still waiting. Verizon never moves quickly on anything.... except when you add services. The bill usually arrives so fast, you'd swear they sent it by courier.
