Here is my set up:
Linksys PAP2 DIR-655 Router Comcast Cable 8K Down and 1.5K Up Motorola Cabvle modem
I have a great internet connection and I am receiving calls with no problem. If I call anyone it rings once and then I can't hear anything. I called my cell phone and my cell rang like normal but when I answered it there was no sound from either end.
I powered down all my hardware to see if that worked. I don't know how to hard reset my pap2 or I would have tried that. |

Well afterVonage could not fix the problem after hours of talking to them I decided to troubleshoot myself. I did a hard reset by calling into my device ****, then put in the code 73738#, password 5465866#, and then I pressed "1" to confirm. Unfortunately that did not fix the problem.
I then plugged my Pap2 directly into the cable modem and it worked! I knew then it was a problem with the router.
I try forwarding ports with no success. I went into my firewall settings and found out that my Endpoint Filtering was the problem. I changed the settings to "Endpoint Indepenent" for both UDP and TCP and now it works great.
These settings have been the same since I bought my router over 6 months ago. Why did all the sudden I get issues? |

I am having exactly the same problem starting today. My equipment and service are the same with the exception of a Linksys Cable Modem vs the Motorola......... I have my DIR-655 set to email me the logs when full and starting today my log has filled 6 times thus far, with rejected SIP ALG packets to and from V*nage. Any ideas, or is this a temporary system problem??? Thanks! |

Change the settings to "Endpoint Independent" for both UDP and TCP and now it works great. It is under the Firewall area. |

I've experienced the same situation here starting late last week. I was able to receive incoming calls, but I couldn't make outgoing calls to certain numbers.
I followed the same steps on the DIR-655 and everything works now. |

Firmware: 1.11 Hardware Version: A2
I did go back to 1.10 when I was haivng issues and it did not fix anything. Ever since I changed those settings I have been good to go.
It is nice to be able to help someone after three years of being on the forum. |

I started having the same problem today, although I upgraded router last week with NO problems until now. Spent an hour with Vonage tech support and got nowhere. Finally a supervisor told me they had recieved several other calls from customers complaining about the same thing, and they all seemed to be using a dlink router.
Tried changing the TPC & UDP settings mentioned in this post and IT WORKED! ...Thanks guys!!!!!
DLINK DIR 655 H/W: A3 F/W: 1.10 (UPGRADED TO 1.11) |
