Purchased the Linksys PAP2 from Circuit City today and setup service with no problems. PAP2 is plugged into a hub with a linux box serving as the router. If I leave the PAP2 setup in DHCP mode, everything works fine. I would like to set the PAP2 with a static IP, but when I do this, I lose the Phone1 LED after a reboot. I have the ports listed in the manual open and forwarded to the IP I'm assigning the PAP2. What am missing or doing wrong? Thanks! |

While a static IP address is working for me, I can't explain your issue (unless you haven't correctly set your gateway, dns, and made sure your ip address is on the same subnet as the rest of your network). However, you might try re-enabling DHCP on the PAP2 and on your DHCP server, setup a dhcp reservation so the PAP2 always receives the same address. |

Sounds like a reasonable idea. I did listen to the IVR and it did indicate proper subnet, IP, gateway, etc. Giving it a reserved IP in the DHCP server will work though, thanks! |
