Hi guys, can anyone tell me if what is the problem with my set-up. I have a VT2142. And At&T as an ISP. I set up my device by connecting my Vonage to my ISP's modem using the blue cable. When I log-in to the router page and use DHCP with MAC clone I cannot still use Vonage and the power light keeps blinking green and turns red. I call tech support and they ask me AT&T gave me a password and we configured it to PPPoE still didn;t work even if I already provided my username and password to connect to the internet. After that we found out that my PC is set to static so we set the router to Static and place the numbers that is in my PC to the router page while doing that we also use MAC clone. My VT2142 cannot still give me an internet. So the technician decided to set my computer back to static instead of automatic and my computer can connect to the internet when it is directly connected to the modem do you guys have any idea on how to do this? It's really a pain in the neck....... I have a friend from At&T and he said that all he did is plug his Vonage device and that's it.... |

You've posted this in the hard wiring forum. You'll probably get a better response if you post it in the Voip forum, where the networking discussions usually take place. In the meanwhile, I would think that the proper configuration would be to set the WAN side of your VT2142 with your ATT setup- static IP, PPPoE, password, and possibly MAC cloning. On the LAN side, enable it as a DHCP server. Then set your computer to get its address automatically. |

I thought you had, but your first post wasn't completely clear to me on that point. |
