Do yourself a huge favor... pay the $100 for a new Series 2 40-hour unit... you'll be able to do high-speed daily calls over your network and you'll get all the other advantages of a Series 2 box!
So where do I find this beast for $100??? Just checked on ebay... Gonna be ore than that. Should I ry a search on TiVo from Google or something??? Wish I had DirecTV. We're leting 'em go for $50 right now. BUT, I need a standard cable/off-air TiVo.

If you check your sale papers Circuit City had the Stand Alone boxes for $199 and a $99 mail in rebate. I also saw this offer at Tweeter so I would assume they are all over now.
Woodie, do yourself a favor and buy a TivoNet card. The money you've saved by switching to Vonage will pay for it in a hurry, and if you're the networking hotshot you say you are, installation will be a piece of cake.
Save the aggravation... if you'd done your homework you would've known about the issues.
