I just completed a LPN from Verizon. I am located in Virginia (area code 540) and the process took 7 days. It does look like the ports are getting faster, at least faster then vonage's 10 day estimate.
I would advise to keep this in mind when choosing retail or online orders of your hardware. From what I understand all online orders are ground shipped from New Jersey, so expect a few days shipping.
So far so good. I'm more than pleased with the call quality and reliability. and the port was painless as well. One small thing, my voicemail I had with verizon cut off 2 days before the transfer was completed, but i wrote it off as VZ switching me from their system. No big deal IMO.
Here are the details
January 6, 2008 Awaiting Number Transfer Authorization
January 6, 2008 Number Transfer Authorization Received
January 6, 2008 Number Transfer Authorization Accepted
January 6, 2008 Transfer Sent to Carrier
January 9, 2008 Carrier Approved Transfer
January 14, 2008 Completed LNP Transfer |
