After much research I have connected my RTP300 Vonage router to my WRT54G Main router and on the same subnet. DSL>WRT54G>RTP300. I have disabled DHCP and Firewall on RTP300 and am on the internet with a computer attached to the RTP300 and on the same subnet as computers attached to the WRT54G. Problem - phone is not working. Light doesn't come on and msg says phone is not provisioned. After additional research I added a cable between a LAN port on the RTP300 and the Internet Port on the RTP300 but that has not corrected the problem - what am I missing? Thanks in advance!

The LAN port on the RPT should be connected to your Linksys, nothing should be connected to the ethernet ports on the RTP. Is this how you have it.

The RTP has four ethernet ports, one internet port and 2 phone ports. i have the RTP connected to the router with an ethernet port. i have another computer attached to one of the remaining ethernet ports. i have a third cable connected from one of the two remaining ethernet ports on the RTP to the interenet port on the RTP as shown in other diagrams in this forum. If I connect the router to the Internet port on the RTP then the phone works but the computer attached to the router is on a different subnet. Doing the way I have described the computer is on the same subnet as the other computers attached to the router and is receiving dhcp from the router.

What you appear to be looking for is "Option 3" in the diagrams. See if you've wired it according to that diagram.

Yes - this is the diagram I found during my research and used for the setup. I suspect a setting in the RTP may be incorrect but am not sure. I changed the IP on the RTP to 192.168.15.2. The IP of the router is 192.168.15.1. Internet setup is set to "Obtain an IP automatically". Local DHCP is disabled, firewall on router is disabled.

The subnet (192.168.15.x) of the WRT54G and the RTP300 absolutely cannot be the same network segment. You'll cause a circular route and it'll never work.

Make sure the local IP address of the RTP300 (not the internet IP address, setting that up as automatic is the right thing to do there) is not in that same class c network (not starting with the same three numbers).

So if you've customized your WRT54G to give out IP addresses starting with 192.168.15.x, then you have to change the local (LAN) addresses on the RTP to something else. 10.0.0.1 would work well, or 192.168.16.x - anything but 192.168.15.x.

It doesn't matter that the RTP is not serving any actual clients - the Voip adapter in the the RTP is a client to the RTP and if it gets confused about what direction 192.168.15.x goes in, you'll never make a connection.
