Hi,

We have a requirement & looking to meet it using SPA-3102:

When any1 calls me on my local PSTN line the call should be forwarded to me in London, UK.

We use a device to device Voip system to make free box-2-box calls from 1 of the Voip provider i.e. using 2 PAP2's when 1 user calls other PAP2 user in London, UK it works. Now we need that SPA to replace 1 of the PAP2 and tacks cake of acknowledging / receiving PSTN call and calling the other PAP2 in London automatically.

Please let us know exact configuration i.e. on what page (PSTL line or Line1) should we configure the Voip providers SIP address, ID / pin and what option should be selected for PSTN calls to be sent to London PAP2. When we make box-box calls from 1 PAP2 to other, we simply dial a 8 digit account ID followed by #.

Thanks

The SPA will answer the POTS line after the expiration of the PSTN Answer Delay. You will need to set up the dial plan to automatically dial out to the SIP Address of the PAP2. The dial plan should look like this
Code:
 (S0<:IPADDRESS:PORT>) or (S0<:SIPNUMBER@SIPPROVIDER:PORT>), etc.
Also set Make Call without Reg on the PSTN tab to dial without registration.

BTW, you weren't specific, but this won't work with Vonage.

Hi Bro,

Thanks for your reply. We use delta3 as our Voip provider, all we have is Delta3's SIP IP address, ID & pin, we have configured both the PAP2's this way and when user A has to call user B, the user just dials the 8 digit account ID from its respective PAP2.

I dint quite understand changes needed as I am new to Voip, appreciate if you can let me know a bit in detail and as to which page in SPA (PSTN line or Line1) should I configured delta3's SIP address, id & pin as both pages has the option to configure the SIP details and what exactly should be the dial plane as.

Appreciate your help,

Regards

It will not hurt to put the SIP credentials on both the PSTN and Line1 tab. You will need them on the PSTN line. The Dial Plan works with several timers within the adapter, and tells the adapter what you (caller) may or not dial on the telephone keypad. When you set it to what I advised above (S0<:SIPNUMBER@SIPPROVIDER:PORT>) you are telling the adapter to set the Short Timer to 0 (S0), in other words don't wait for anyone to dial anything, as soon as the phone is off hook dial. What should it dial? That is what the rest of the Dial Plan is telling it. (<:IPADDRESS:PORT> or <:SIPNUMBER@SIPPROVIDER:PORT>) So here you would place your Delta3 sip address. The port is the port your PAP2 is using. This can be omitted, if it is the adapter will assume port 5060. So what happens is the adapter answered the PSTN line, then without waiting dials your delta3 sip address using the other delta3 sip account.

Yet no luck, you can see what I have done via http://sids.mine.nu:85 , feel free to make the changes and I will make a note and let u know the result, please note the SIP IP is 213.137.73.140 & the number to be called is 108524551231, port is defaukt 5060 or 5061

The device / sip account may not be online as I am using a ISP that blocks SIP to get u access, later will chnage the default gateway

Does the Linksys SPA3102 work with Vonage?

Since I can't use my existing phone # with Vonage, I would like to keep my POTS for incoming calls, and just use Vonage for outgoing.

Is this possible?

Thanks.
