good day,
This morning i started having trouble with my rt31p2 router.
the phone lines LED is blinking rapidly 3 times then 2 slow and repeats any idea whats going on .. I currently have no Voip service from Vonage.

Are you sure it's the phone LED that's flashing? Normally that only happens when you have phone mail or are on a all, and it doesn't have a pattern. A flashing power LED is a different story.

Yes it is the phone LED and it has a definate pattern of flashing!!!
I will do my best to post the info below.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Your location / Phoenix
2. Your ISP name and type (cable, DSL, wireless etc) / DSL Prodigy
3. Upload and download speeds
4. Modem make and model / 2wire / 1070
5. Type of Vonage adapter used ie RT31P2 or PAP2 / RT31P2
6. Setup of Network ie Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC / modem/Vonage/PC
7. Issue you are experiencing ie dropped calls, choppy audio etc / No Service...BOTH phone LED's is as follows...3 Rapid blinks....2 slow and repeats.....3/2...3/2...
8. Run this Voip Test:



My Results
Download 876,640 bps
Upload 78,984 bps
QOS 97%
RTT 157 ms
MaxPause 55 ms

Very strange. Can you access the internet with your computer plugged in to the LAN side of the RT31P2, or do you have to remove the RT31P2 for internet access?

My Vonage 2442 has the same blinking light sequence but only on the Ethernet 1 LED, mostly just 3 rapid blinking lights. My phone is dead, that is I have no Voip service now! Please help.

Mitzi, my guess is that the RT31P2 has given up the ghost. I would, however, like to see the detailed results from your Voip test. If they're good, then I'd recommend a call to Vonage tech support to see if they can access the RT. I suspect you'll end up replacing it.

thanks for the reply... Yes i gave it the kick....sending it back to Vonage for replacement...i have borrowed an adapter from a friend and now trying to get Vonage to hook me up as i cant seem to do it the online route nor can i call toll free as i am traveling in mexico...
