When I am on a VoIP call and my land line rings, it has a tendency to hang up my call. I have DSL on my land line and wasn't sure if that was the reason. I have had this problem since I got my unit. I don't use the Voip phone much but use it to forward to my cell. Thank goodness as I wouldn't be happy with it as a main line. I have also had to call people back on the land line as they couldn't hear me. I just did the line bandwidth test and it seems to be OK. I have a Linksys unit and was going to try a different one. |

Are you using any cordless phones? Wireless routers? |

Yes, I have a D-link wireless router. I have a cordless on my land line but hard line to the VoIP box. |

Make sure that you have filters on all of your BT sockets as it sounds like when the BT line rings, it interferes with your internet connection (as DSL and voice are different frequencies) therefore it literally cuts your internet connection, incidentally disconnecting your vonage service that needs a broadband connection to work. |

I have what Telus provided on all the lines. They said it needed to be there on all lines except the modem. I imagine that is a filter? Would it help if I had a VoIP (like the Motorola) that has the router and wireless all in one. |

Is the land line cordless phone a 2.4ghz? If so that is probably your problem. Your router which I assume the Vonage device is connected to is also using the 2.4GHZ frequency. So when your land line phone rings (or is used) it interferes with the router causing the disconnection. Try not using the cordless phone and see what happens. Use either a corded phone or a 5.8Ghz or higher phone if you have one. |
