Post subject: dial tone, but fast busy signal. RTP 300 and comcast
I am using the Motorola Modem, then the SMC Barracade which then goe to my Linksys RTP300 which hooks up to the phone.
I've been having a lot of problems with my Linksys not being able to connect to

.. SO- after many ideas and fixes... I called Comcast again. We were also having trouble with the TV cable. They actually said that they would come out to check on this because I had a soft signal.
Yesterday, the computer cable guy came out. He checked things and replaced the main cable connection into the house and said that it would fix both the TV and computer, but to keep the TV Cable guy scheduled just in case.
The TVs are much better. I thought that the phone was fixed. I have no way to tell because it's random when it decides to not talk with

.
This morning, hubby tried to use the phone. We have a dial tone but every number we call receives a fast busy signal. What causes that and how do I fix it and why would it happen because the main cable was switched out? I tried rebooting everything and also noticed that there was a nice steady light lit for the phone- but I hadn't plugged the phone in yet. I'm rebooting again. Oh, I also checked voicemail- none there.
Please any help is very welcome.
