sorry for sounding stupid, im new to Voip
Is Vonage a SIP provider?
if so , where can i get my sip domain (like sip.vonage.com?)

and my authentication username and password for that? i am trying to use one of my wifi devices to make phone calls

They are not a SIP provider, or more specifically they do not provide SIP credentials to users.

Vonage uses SIP, but doesn't allow users to have the credentials so that they can use their own devices.

Vonage is, in fact, a SIP provider. However, they do not support Bringing Your Own device on their regular accounts so they don't give out SIP credentials. However, if you get a Vonage regular account and ADD ON a Vonage Soft Phone account, then they will give you the credentials for the soft phone account and you can use "ANY" SIP device.

I am not familiar with this specific phone, but as it is supposed to support SIP, the answer is likely yes - these should work for basic calls, though some features (like message waiting) may not work exactly right. Note that this is ONLY for soft phone add-on accounts, not the "main" account.

The Vonage Softphone used to work unofficially with bring-your-own-device, but it looks like they may have rotated their shields last summer. Since Mid-2007 it hasn't worked for anything but Vonage devices (that I can find).

I'm not sure if this forum is in favor of posting the provisioning XML, but since the one I have is outdated (as of last summer), it's a mute point.

I use it with a UTStarcom brnaded F3000 - it seems to work fine. I believe that Vonage still allows this, though they do not "support" it meaning that you can't call them if there is a problem - or at least they tell you in advance that it is not their problem to fix and they you'll need to figure things out yourself (or come to a forum like this one).
