Greetings! Not sure where to post this concern which has been going on for months now.
Throughout the day and basically hourly some device from with in my home is making toll free data calls from the two following numbers: 18005315602 and 18667092073. I know these are
data calls but no one can tell me who these numbers are registered to. When I am talking on my phone these data calls disrupt my conversation. Other times I've tried to place a phone call
but am unable since these data calls have the line in use. These data calls are being made almost hourly for 24hrs. I've been watching the online Vonage "Placed calls" status.

We have Verizon FiOS, but prefer Vonage service.
We also use Direct TV and have two DRV/Tivo type devices. I've tested each device and watch the tests as they register on the Vonage "Placed Calls" status. Both units call a local number and are set up to only get updates on a weekly basis.

We also have Vector security service which is currently disarmed due to too many false alarms. Vector will not own up to causing the disruption in our phone service. But I have them coming out next week for a service call. (Vector Security has proved to be a terrible service thus far).

So I ask.... what is the most possible culprit to these disruptive data calls? Vector Security services, Verizon, or Vonage?
Is there something wrong with the Vonage router (which has not been upgraded since we installed it)? Would Verizon or Vonage
need to place data calls on an hourly basis? If it's looking like Vector, any mitigation information regarding the other culprits will help in my battle to get better technical service from Vector.... esp. since I'm not very technical with phone stuff.

Appreciate your assistance!
Karla

Direct TV is calling "home". Unplug your Direct TV units and it should stop.

I tested the Direct TV units and they call home using a local phone number, not a toll free number. The units are also scheduled to call home once a week which I verified with the Vonage "placed calls" dashboard.

So I've ruled out Direct TV as the culprit.

Both numbers are TiVo trying to place calls to the DVR/PPV site. These two numbers and not listed in a changable log (only by download from TiVo). Some TiVo units have been known to call several times a day to download HD information.

If you google those numbers, the overwhelming response is Direct TV. One post even goes into detail on what each number does. So, I would disconnect a unit and see what happens.

Awesome! I truly appreciate your quick responses! I have disconnected each Tivo device and narrowed it down to the one unit. Now it's up to my husband to deal with it!

I'm puzzled why the tivo unit can override your phone conversations. I'd make sure they can only make calls when the line is free. I can understand your security system doing that since it needs access at all times. Something is misconfigured here with your tivo
