Post subject: voicemail e-mail & iPhone compatibility
If you have an iPhone, you've probably already discovered that the iPhone can't play the WAV files that are sent as attachments of vonage voicemails.
If you run your own mail server, I've figured out a work-around. With a bit of perl, and some help from sox and lame, you can re-encode the attachments as MP3, which do play in the iPhone, and as a bonus are much smaller.
I wrote it all up
on my blog
