Hi Guys and girls,
Those who have successfully configured and used Vonage in Mumbai, please post the Internet Service provider name and the area in which you stay.
e.g. I am in Malad, Mumbai and I know MTNL Internet service provider works fine with Vonage.
I was seeking information for following Internet Providers if they work with Vonage:- Airtel Sify Tata Indicom Reliance Hathway
Those who are in Mumbai, Please select the ISP you use in the Poll.
Thanks, Rahul |

I doubt that your poll will get many votes; we don't get all that many posts from users in Mumbai (if any). Why don't you try doing a search on Mumbai? |

Thanks Steve, I already did the general search. But could not come up with any conclusive thread. So thought about starting some thread which will help me and all other Mumbai users. There are many Vonage users in Mumbai. |

Thanks , I know MTNL is best. But I had applied for it 6 months back and I am still waiting for connection.
I am now using Sify. I gave them call and they installed the connection in one day. And its working fine.
The good news is, now a days in India Vonage can be configured with almost all broadband services. You just need to configure Vonage to services as they do your PC. |

Hi Khanmoy,
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR PLUG AND PLAY, THAN RIGHT NOW IN MUMBAI , MTNL IS THE ONLY PLUG AND PLAY FOR Vonage.
All ISPs which require password/login id authentication for internet access will have to have their internet access done through a hub.
FOLLOWING ISPs require login/password authentication:- SIFY TATA INDICOM AIRTEL BSNL RELIANCE PACENET HATHWAY
I am using Sify and I have wireless router. So physical connection is:-
Ethernet Cable from Sify--> Wireless router-->PC and Vonage device in parallel.
Your internet provider will configure your router for you.
Sify requires login/password authentication so I have to login everytime they restart their server i.e. once a day.
I hope it helps. |
