Post subject: Voip Speed Test crashes consistantly
I have been trying to run the
Voip
Speed test lately and it keeps crashing on me. Have even updated Windows XP to the latest patch that caused problems with IE exploding on you. Have cleaned out cache and any other files on the system that are not needed. Was wondering if anyone else has the same problem. Have even gone to other speed test sites to see if it fails there also and it does not. Those sites are the normal speed test sites and not like this test one.
The error is the normal IE error box that comes up and says that IE has encounterd a problem and needs to be closed. We are sorry for the inconvience. Have even tried other browsers and they crash also. Firefox was the other browser.

Speed test works for me. I suspect your problem may have something to do with JAVA.
Check another site that runs JAVA such as the National Weather Service
http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=NCR&rid=ilx&loop=yes
and also check another installation of speed test, such as
http://voipreview.org/voipspeedtester.aspx

I think Ed is right on with this.
I just ran it from Firefox and it worked just fine.
You could try to uninstall/reinstall Java to see if that helps. Should be available from the Add/Remove programs section of Control Panel in Windows.

Tried both sites that you have there Ed, and they both work fine with no problems. Go Figure. Had thought it might be a java issue also like you did.

You might want to try
www.testyourvoip.com
and see if that works.
