The web site says that 511 is available in Colorado but when I call it I get "This service is not available in your area."

Anyone else having this same problem?

What is your Zipcode? The information on where to send the call is handled by zipcode.

When you call 511 (from a landline or cell) in Colorado you are directed to 303-639-1111 or 877-315-ROAD. It is a routing issue on Vonage's end. It can be remedied via your ATA's Dial Plan or can be a server side action on their server. Either way Vonage support will have to do it.

In response to the two posts, thanks.

First, my zipcode is 80130.

Second, the ATA dialplan issue makes sense, but I wouldn't know how to contact anyone in support for help on that issue.

thanks for your suggestions though.

I don't agree that it makes sense to add it to the ATA dialplan. Dialplans on these devices are used to allow dialing and matching on the strings so the call will initiate. Also, the dialplans are controlled on a mass scale and setting individual plans like this for 511 to 303.639.1111 is not a feasable option.

You should try it now as it looks as though support for 80130 has been added.

bottom line you need to contact Vonage support, as they will have to make the change be it to the DP or their server. In Colorado the zip code does not matter, all calls go to the same place. If you have a home/cell phone in Cortez, or one in Sterling dialing 511 goes to the same place. You then route what area you want to check.

I understand what you are saying but you need to understand how it is implemented before you jump the gun. Any x11 in the Voip world will behave a little differently than in the PSTN world and even amongst different Voip providers.

In any case, this should be working now for bencst.

Brick wall They are ALL routed to the PSTN. The only difference is how Vonage handles 411 when it is sent to them as opposed to 1-212-555-1212.

I can't tell if you are agreeing or not but the above statement explains it all. It all depends on how Vonage handles the requests. Please don't insult me by saying they are all routed to the PSTN as these types of statements are understood to be true universally.
