When I activated the call forwarding for 7 seconds to be forwarded to my cell it worked fine. Later, I disabled it and recently I changed it back to 10 seconds. For some reason it fowards the calls within 2 seconds. I tried the other increments of seconds, even 30 seconds but still forwards within 2 seconds. I tried powering off the Vonage device and disabling and abling the call forward but it is still stuck within the 2 seconds.

Please advise. Evil or Very Mad

I have found that each time I make a settings change using the Vonage page, it takes a few minutes to update.

When I set up call forwarding, I did like you said. First I forwarded it to my girlfriends cell phone. That worked. Then I sent it to my cell phone.

Something strange that happens for me is when I was playing with forwarding calls to my girlfriends phone, I forgot I set up the Vonage to call my cell if the network is unavailable. So It seemd like I confused the Vonage system by changing the call forwarding setting over and over. When I would use my cell to call the Vonage line, instead of forwarding it to my girlfriends cell, it forwarded it to my cell.Since I was calling from my cell, I ended up hearing my cell phone messages.I couldnt figure out at first why when I called my Vonage number, why I got my cell phone messages.

It turned out that while the Vonage system was updating my call forwarding settings, it took my Vonage phone line offline for a few minutes.It was still forwarding to my cell though cause Vonage was offline.

My suggestion is if you change call forwarding, give it time for the Vonage system to make the change.

You could power off your equipment and turn your modem on first and let it boot, then you turn on your Vonage adaptor.

Hopefully this helps. I am a newbie Vonage customer. I have read that when you change your bandwidth saver feature, it could take up to an hour for the changes to take.

When making changes to line features (i.e. Call Forwarding, Voicemail, Simulring, Network Availability, etc.), there is no need to reboot your adpater or network. I just wanted to mention that so you don't waste your own time. These changes are not reflected on the device (like call waiting, bandwidth saver) and should change within minutes.

Couple of things to mention:

1) When you change the time in call fowarding, every 5 seconds represents one ring (I know that wasn't part of the issue but just pointing out).

2) When your device (phone line on the device specifically) is properly registering, call forwarding will kick in as well as voicemail according to the timeout selected.

3) When your line is not properly registering, your network availability will override call forwarding and voicemail.

Now, onto the issue. Do you have both call forwarding and network availability set? To the same number? If you disable all of your features and then enable call forwarding for 10 seconds, does it still forward after 2? I just tested on my account and all works as expected so we should be able to figure this out.
