Hi all, I am Live in US and iam in India for sometime now. I want to use the Voip service of Vonage in India. I want to use it so that i will have a US number for any of my friends to call me. Also, i want to sign up for the service online. At the moment iam not in America (still have a physical US address and a US credit card). Being away from America i cannot receive the Telephone adapter they ship. My question is Can i buy an adapter in India, register with Vonage and use it? If i can do that what adapter would that be? I saw in the website they ask for a MAC address for the adapter. If i buy an adapter in India will i still be able to provide all that information and will the adapter work?
Let me know answers to my questions and i would be very much grateful
Thanks Siva |

hi siva, the best thing you can do is have someone purchase a device for you here in the US & ship it out to india. i don't think Vonage sells its adapters in other countries but if by chance they do, just look for the Vonage sticker. you can get a motorola, dlink or even linksys adapters that are configured by Vonage. once you have the device, you can just go online and activate it. of course, if you need further assistance with the installation, you can always call up Vonage tech support. |

Siva,
My understanding is that at this time, Vonage does not sell adapters in India. I would agree with the earlier post to have it ordered to your US address and then have the person ship it to you.
Also my understanding is that Vonage USA does not ship their adapters to international addresses either. |

On the other hand, if this is part of the question, I don't believe there are any import/export restrictions to prevent someone in the US from shipping one internationally. |
