Is it ok to reset the ATA. I, as usual, am having some problems so I've come to the conclusion to reset my ATA. (Specifically, my problem is that when i pick up the phone, htere is n odial tone and the red light on the box doesnt light up).Thanks

When you say reset, do you mean pressing the red button on the ATA? If so, then yes, that is ok. If you mean accessing the box and factory reseting it, then no, that is not ok.
The later of the two will render your ATA useless.

I ma using a linkys befsr41 router. I have the ports that you previouslt dol me to forward forwarded and i only chekced the udp box. And I don't think that i have power cycled anything since i dont even know what that means . And I cant take the phone of the hook and press the red button since when I do that the button doesnt illuminate.
