Update:

I've spoken with another Vonage customer that I know (also here in Dallas) and they experience this same issue. They are on a DSL connection in an office building. So, I don't think this is a Comcast (QAM) issue.

This packet loss also affects incoming faxes - after the first page (presumably after the first 60 seconds) the fax is terminated. Not good.

Vonage?? Help??

I've noticed what seems to be a pattern of problems in the DFW area mentioned here over the past several days. Not sure what is causing it, but it does seem that area has some issue -- perhaps Vonage or perhaps some major hub.

I'm in DFW also and we've experienced the periodic inbound garbling as well. I'm on Comcast. It would be nice if we could get some response from Vonage on this.

I live in Fort Worth.

Been a customer for about 4 months. I use this phone a good 15-20 times a day (Work form home) doing computer tech support. I too noticed the choppy audio about a month or more ago (Was on the road for 3 weeks and noticed when I got back).

I am using the Cisco/Lynksys PAP2 router on Charter Cable.

I got 2 friends to sign up and they are on different networks than me, one lives in Dallas and the other Arlington, and they too are having the same problem with incoming calls.

Well, it is clear to me that something changed at Vonage and we are experiencing the result. I too sat on hold today for 30 mins and finally hung up. *NICE JOB Vonage*

I suspect that the new Ad campaign that I see on TV has caused Vonage to get swamped with users and ... guess what THEY CAN'T HANDLE IT.

Well... I will give them 60 more days, then look at ATT... Too bad, cause I really like supporting companies that are not related to the traditional phone companies.

I think the natives are getting restless. Every day when I call my wife from work she tears into me because of the echo and garbled audio problems. I can only take so much. Sounds like the issues are more widespread and are probably not related to the ISP's.

I have the same problem, but I think the problem is with Level3.net....it seems that all internet usage in this area goes through a server called Dallas1.Level3.net , I ran ping plotter, and I get up to 50% packet loss somtimes through there.....I called Charter and they throw their hands in the air saying it's not their problem....I don't know were to go with this information. I emailed Level3, but no response...it doesn't seem like anyone cares.....any suggestions?

Yeah, I've got Comcast in Dallas and when I ping through to yahoo.com, that server is where I lose 95% of my packets. There's gotta be a way to get that fixed. I don't think that Vonage traffic goes through there though (at least not for me).
