Post subject: Service Outage USA Massachusetts 781 Area Code
Help,
Many are reporting service going on and off and on again today. Mine was fine up until about 4:00 PM EST. It is now 11:28 PM (Friday December 14th).
Can folks tell me what state or country they are in, that service is returning. I must say that support for problems is as dispariging as Sunrocket disappearing overnight (taking the money and running) and Vonics (which never provided a working system or rather a reliable system).
This forum is very helpful but for those that service is back on, did it just go back on, or did you have to recycle your router (Vonics Router) versus house router (we run cable modem into home router and then one of the outputs goes to the
Vonage
Router.)
To this end, doing a power recycle on the
Vonage
Device does nothing. We do get an incoming message "This Telephone Line Can NOt Register to the
Vonage
System"
this telephone line can not register to the
vonage
system.
I think this forum should allow the word
Vonage
in the subject line, so that folks on google or yahoo can pick up the threads being announced. Perhaps email would be a good mode for
Vonage
to announce problems, or perhaps, instead of forwarding my entire system to my cell (I get loads of international--they won't pay for that!), at least
Vonage
could automate calls out to cell phones or numbers users provide in the event
Vonage
goes out.
At least I didn't order the service today. I ordered two weeks ago, and I'm just trusting it's an intermittent thing, not a baseline behavior. Vonics was problematic on a daily basis.
Cheers,

Post subject: Having the same problem service not working
I also had my power light blinking red, uploaded my configuration several times and had no luck. Reset my system and still no luck. So i called
vonage
and have been on hold for an hour so far. My
vonage
service has been getting worse over the last 2 months. I lose service for hours and i do not know i lost service until i get a e-mail that i have a voice mail.

I'm in Las Vegas (702) and have an South Carolina (843) number. I've been down since at least 3:00 pm PST. I had been fighting with my wireless router and
Vonage
router to for 3 hours (thinking it was my setup to blame) then I decided to check the forums and see an 8 page post.
Mine will eventual come up after about 5-8 mins but then 2 mins later it will die again and stay dead. Real frustrating.

It is 11:23pm CST time in DFW area and my lite has been steady green not for about 20 minutes and no problems. That would be 817 area code.

Post subject: Customer Service Told me to do following for outage
Vonage
would not tell me there was an outage or any other system activity today, I was just on the phone with them (65 minute hold time on my cell, 12:01 AM December 15th. 781 area code in Massachusetts (Greater Boston)........the rep. told me that in the future should i get this recorded message (no service available and/or no ringtone) that I should do the following for the equipment I own (Linksys PAP2):
Push Reset on the device with pin for one minute (the vonics device) THEN turn the power off on the vonics device for 2 or more minutes.
Turn it back on.
They tell me in the future this will fix the problem.
I'm mystified as they would not confirm whether there was an outage today. I also tried to explain, that in the absence of all they suggested my ringtone returned on its own.
I had used the reset without their guidance, but for ten seconds only, perhaps you really do have to hold the thing in for a full minute. Next time I will try their suggestion, though it came to late and is not found on their website (at least not paired with the idea that if one got a phone message saying
Vonage
is unavailable here is what to try first.......

Tell me if that works for you. I'm going to post it in the larger forum. I asked
Vonage
why they wouldn't post it in a logical manner--if you fail to get ringtone or you get a prerecorded
Vonage
message then first try the following, then wait on hold for 65 minutes.

Post subject: Confirmed - Vonage is down in the US
I can confirm that
Vonage
is down (USA wide). I just spoke with the
Vonage
customer service and they said that there is a system wide problem within the US and the
Vonage
service is down. I just got off the phone with
Vonage
at 12:43am EST. They state they are working on the issue, and it does affect the entire USA
Vonage
network. While they are working on the system problem you can expect sporadic (up/down) issues. Hope this info. is helpful.

Post subject: Re: MY VONAGE SYSTEM IS DOWN OR IS IT?
Three lines with
Vonage
? Ever heard not to put all your eggs in one basket?
Vonage
makes money by not providing any service, the eBay way.
My
Vonage
lines are out, but my packet8 line is alive and well.
Vonage
says my wait time is about 15 minutes, but that was 3 hours ago. My solution is to transfer my
Vonage
numbers to another
VOIP
service provider and then cancel my credit card.

Mine is also down. Been down for a few hours now and I have tried to reset everything. I actually have two
vonage
devices for 3 lines and neither work.
Been on hold for 65 minutes and still haven't talked to anyone with
Vonage
. This is terrible customer service.
