The problem seems to be all over and intermittent. I can place and receive some calls however there are two problems:

1- It is originating call forwards to my forwarding number without any call actually coming in. I have received upto 5 forwarded calls from the same number that I had spoken to half an hour ago without their initiating any calls. When I pick it up, there is nothing because no one is actually calling.

2- Customer service is at its worst. It says it is transferring calls to a specialist but then it drops the call.

I have turned off ringing on both my primary phone and the forwarding phone to get some sleep. Obviously that eliminates my ability to take any real calls.

Seems like their software is messed up. I wonder if it is really worth it to stay with Vonage. They continue to have random problems off and on.

So I logged on to vonage, disabled voicemail, waited a minute, enabled vm, waited a minute, called from my work cell, it forwarded to my forwarding number (phone is off). waited another minute, called again, I got into my vonage vm (phone is disconnected). I then waited 30 sec, tried a 3rd time, and verizon tells me that the call cannot be connected as dialed (verizon is the cell provider). the following is also stated: announcement 4 Switch 119-2.

22 voice mails on my cell phone, and counting. total has been 60 of them in the last 2 hours.

I am in NYC and am having service issues as well. Cannot make outgoing or receive incoming calls. I went online to forward my calls to my cell in the event of service disruption which turned out to be a big mistake. I am now getting call after call of what must be the calls that were not able to go thru earlier. So far 6 in a row.

I also am really upset about the customer serive. I tried calling Vonage 8 times and was disconnected every single time I received the message that a customer service rep was being located. That is just rude and wrong! I am not happy at all. You should at least be able to sit on hold. Being disconnected is unacceptable.

PostPosted: Fri Dec 14, 2007 11:01 pm    Post subject: System Down Repeating Message Telephone Can Not Register Reply with quote Back to top

Hello,

I'm a two week user of Vonage. My system must be down or the network must be down. We get a recorded message, this telephone can not register to the Vonage Network. It would be great if Vonage had a freestanding webpage to tell us network status or to email members if the network is down.

I am a Sunrocket Refugee. I was happy with their service and they folded. Out about $180 bucks give or take a few. Went to Vonics---currently pursuing refund with credit card company. Vonics was down most of the time or we could not get incoming calls. Technical support was absent (leave phone message, email) days would go by.....

Vonage felt different, but not today! Can anyone say if the network is down internationally etc. I'm on hold now for about twenty minutes.

Vonage was supposed to be different.

Looks like a global issue. I have been with Vonage for over 2 years, and with the exception of a few hiccups with their updates over the years, I am happy with them. Usually a simple unplug and plug in for the router took care of 75% of my issues.

I'm able to receive incoming calls now. Just tried calling myself from my cell. However, the caller ID is showing my number to be out of area. So there may still be some issues with the system that still needs to be worked out. Surprised
