Did you try a reboot?
You know the thing that is interesting about this outage and this thread in particular has been how many people have repeated the same thing over and over again. It seems nobody reads anybody elses comments and just keeps complaining. I don't know how many times I read about the "
Vonage
Service Announcement" yet people continued to complain. Was this a bad outage? Absolutely but during any major ice or snow storm the same thing can happen with land line phones. And all of those folks who want to switch over to their cable companies
Voip
, I say lots of luck.
Also I see a great deal of questions seem to go unanswered. For example Missy1001 asked if this sort of thing happens often. Well Missy I live in Northeastern Ohio in the snow belt and have had
Vonage
for two years and this is the first outage I've seen.
I wonder if she will look to see if her question got answered or if she just posted and forgot about looking?

Hmmmm....Seems like Texas is the one having a problem. Have you tried calling customer service today? I know it's a pia but it should be resolved by now. My service was back up on Saturday morning.

Post subject: Have to get out and go borrow a friend's phone for that..
As I just canceled the home line 5 days ago, I will have to go use someone else's phone to call. Tried rebooting and everything else. When I talked to Customer Service yesterday, they told me that the outage was due to the ice storm up north..Well you guys have service, as for us here south of you some of us still don't...

We continue to complain because we are still without phone service, How can you fault the people that are paying for a service for complaining when they do not recieve it. I am paying over $300 a month i have 3 residential lines and 4 busines lines and 2 fax lines. Should i just put my business on hold and silently wait?

this is not a land line service. It's internet based and as such should be setup in a fully redundant system and should remain up reguardless of weather conditions. If there is a hurrican in Houston, i expect to be with out service. If there is an ice storm in New Jersey then I still expect to have service in Houston.

Yes it is helpfull to answers each othes questions, but i'm not going to go back and read through 16 pages of questions.
This is the bigest
vonage
outage i have seen and i've been using them for 2 years. Prior to this i've never seen anything go longer than a few hours.

Hey, I'm not saying you don't have a right to be upset. You absolutely do, specially since
Vonage
has taken down the problem message.
I have read all 16 pages but that's only because I was one of the first to start to notice it.
Hope your service gets fixed soon. I wish there was something more I could do to help. Hang in there.

Post subject: Vonage Outage
I've had
Vonage
here in Indianapolis for a couple of months now and when it's working I like it a lot but they've had two big outages now that I know of and that is real bad. If I'd only looked into it better I'd have tried someone else. Cause
Vonage
$ucks with a lot of things. There support is in India or somewhere like that and don't try to tell me there not. I hooked
Vonage
up without a problem. But had trouble with my phones working on
Vonage
. I called and got no help at all from them. I finally got it fixed on my own by getting a new ringer device from Radio Shack. I only wish I'd have looked here first...
