I have lost my 646 area code Vonage line for over 24 hours now.

Questions:

1. Have any other 646 Vonage subscribers suffered ?

2. Is there a Vonage tech support email address to register loss of service for a particular Vonage number. (I don't want to spend hours of paid time on a cell phone calling CSRs).

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Look at the bottom of the vonage home page, click contact us then click the large email button (2nd step after Start Here).

Our service came back this morning. Just one little kink: The voicemail light on the phone blinks and when I pick up the handset, I hear a stutter sound before the dial tone; when I check *123/PIN, the announcement claims "no new messages in your mailbox". When I check the Vonage website Voicemail page, it shows 0 messages.
Is there something I can or need to do to clear this condition? Other than wait for the service to be fully restored.

if u go to their website im sure there is a way to report issues by email..

yayyyyy my service is up and running again!!...

I think forums llike this are useful actually because if I had not found it no doubt i would have messed up my entire system by keeping on restarting it, unplugging things and changing settings as i had been doing before finding this and realising it was a vonage issue, not just an issue for me.. and yes it also makes u feel better to vent to people that are going thru the same thing and know that its not just you...

Leave yourself a voicemail from another phone and then delete the voicemail. This will (usually) clear the voicemail status indicator.

pdhenry, thank you! Your suggestion cleared the voicemail status indicator.

I haven't tried it for two years but Vonage was notoriously bad in ignoring emails. Maybe they have improved but it was a waste of time when I tried it.

And I'm happy you're up and running again. Looks like the crisis is over.

I have out going, incoming calls go directly to voice mail after 1 ring. The other day I had all calls set up to go directly to voice mail, but I changed it back when I got home. Yesterday and today all my calls are going to directly to voice mail after 1 ring. I then have to call the person back.

Vonage CS told me their engineers are working on this issue.
