I have seen this problem mentioned before. I would like to use the Vonage simulring feature so that calls to my home phone also ring my cell phone. Of course, when I do that, my cell phone's voice mail answers immediately when I am either on my cell phone or my cell is unreachable (off, out of range, etc.).
I have seen others mention that deactivating my cell phone voice mail will solve this problem. I am perfectly willing to do that, but will it really solve the problem? Don't some carriers use a message that tells callers you are unavailable? Doesn't that message start immediately when the phone is unreachable, creating the same problem of the cell phone "answering" before Vonage voice mail gets activated?
Any help or experiences are appreciated. |

Shutting off the Cell VM won't help when the phone is off or out of range, for the reasons you mentioned. You only option is to turn Simulring on/off when you find yourself in those situations. Does your phone have a browser? If so you could do it before you shut down, or if you know you're headed for a deadspot, etc. |
