Post subject: Linksys PAP2 half duplex
Hello,
I have my PAP2 connected to Dlink router and the router shows the connection to the PAP2 as half duplex. I have changed the cable going to the PAP2 and also moved the port on the 4 port router, result is still the same. Is this normal?
Thanks in advance for the response.

Half duplex is actually a setting. This isn't caused by a cable. You would have to log into your router and change the setting.
Are you trying to change this because something is not working correctly?

thanks for the response. the problem i was having is poor audio quality on calls. i am not sure if the half duplex is the cause but wanted to make sure it was not. the dlink router autosenses and i cannot hardcode the setting. and i cannt open the web browser interface of the PAP2.

Post subject: half duplex setting on the PAP2
This is a drawback for t his particular item. according to the wiki page found here
PAP2
this is a limitation of that particular piece of hardware. It means that it does not support the transfer of information in both directions (in and out) simultaneously.
This being said, I am not sure if this will be a problem, since it is dedicated to your phone line. Best suggestion from me might be to try the phone speedtest on this site. Good Luck!

It is a problem for me. It defaults my LAN to 10M/Half duplex. So my file transfers (LAN) take longer vice having a 100M/Full duplex system.
Called Linksys the PAP2 should support 803.3u 100BaseTX. Mine wasn't.
Called
Vonage
their sending a D0Link VTA to replace the PAP2.
