I'm having problems with the wireless signal on my WRTP54G linksys router. I have a bunch of wireless equipment including a sound system, phone, and Airport that I've used to convert the printer to wireless all in the same room. I have two laptops that ride the wireless, one a MacBook Pro and one a Sony Vaio. The MAC has no problem finding the signal, which I have on channel 1, although the signal strength is always about 1/2 strength. But the PC keeps going slow, or losing the signal all together.

I have the latest wireless firmware on the router: 3.0.0.12
and the latest firmware: 5.01.04
(according to this forum)

Anybody have any tips for boosting the signal?

If the Mac is connecting fine at the same location I would think that maybe the problem is the wireless in the laptop.

If its not, then the only thing I can think of would be to buy a higher gain antenna for the router.

I'm fairly sure you can't boost the signal strength as any type of firmware setting on this router.
