I used to use the Vonage box as our main house router and had it setup for DHCP.
I just recently purchased a DIR-655 wireless router and I want to put the Vonage box behind the router but it isn't working, I get the message "Your Vonage device cannot connect to the Internet"
The setup is Comcast cable modem -> dlink -> Vonage And the rest of our home network is connected to the dlink The dlink is setup as DHCP allowing 192.168.0.100-192.168.0.200 The Vonage box's IP is set to be 192.168.0.2 under the router IP in the Basic Setup page.
First let me ask a stupid question, does the cable that goes to the Vonage from the dlink go into the Internet port or Ethernet port. I'm pretty positive it should be in the Ethernet port, but I figured I ask just in case.
Next under the port forwarding in the dlink I added ports 21,53,69,80,123,2400,5061-5062,10000-20000 for Vonage.
I've tried disabling the "SPI" firewall on the dlink and that didn't help.
I'm really lost, any thoughts? |

I have my Vonage router in front of the wireless router and I have absolutely no problems with Vonage or internet connection.
From what I read of your setup, you have your wireless router to allow 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.200. Your Vonage router is out of that range at 192.168.0.2.
Either set the range to allow 192.168.0.2 or change the address of the Vonage router to something between 192.168.0.100 - 192.168.0.200. |

But 100-200 is DHCP, shouldn't a static IP be allowed?
Edit: Well I tried setting the Vonage box within the HDCP range and still nothing. |

The only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask. The cable from the D-link to the Vonage box should normally plug into the Vonage box's internet port, not a LAN port. |

Thanks for the reply, that ended up being one of the problems.
But I eventually got it working by doing a hard reset (*bonks self for not thinking of it sooner*)
Thanks for the posts guys. |

Glad you got it going. Remember to set QoS in the Dlink to give priority to the Vonage box. That will prevent choppy calls when you're phoning and surfing at the same time. |

Yup, that's the next step, figuring out how to do QoS, I've never set it before.
But I'm sure I can find a guide somewhere through google |
