I need to transfer my number from Vonage canada to rogers but I was told I to get the Vonage ILEC/CLEC details as Rogers does not have access to this info(Don't ask me why particularly in these days of B2B realtime transactions). The Vonage CSRs' are not helpful in giving me this information and Rogers is not able to proceed without it.

Does anyone out there know the Vonage Canada ILEC/CLEC details for Ontario (GTA - mississauga)?

Thank you

I have no idea why you would switch to Roger's Home Phone, that has to be the worse deal going.

Maybe likes adventure... or can use the health care when he feels ill afterward.

Its got to be more reliable than Vonage.

Vonage has some pretty kick-ass features I like, online reports, online and email access to one's voicemail. Excellent price

All this would be great if it was halfway stable. My phone calls are at times sounding pretty crappy (i'm on my second pap adapter), I can't get caller id name (holy crap this is annoying) and in the 30 times I've called the house, at least 5 times its said 'this number is not assigned'. They simply don't seem able to assist. I've had my issues escalated twice (seemingly to lalaland)

Who is your internet provider? Have you done the speed test on here? Please post your results. Not sure why you are not getting call display with name and number.

I had the Motorola box, but purchases a Linksys Wireless unit WRT54GP and I am not having any problems with it.

For the price you have to pay with Rogers Home Phone to get all the features is big money, but maybe no Whammies.

My Results
Download 3,127,264 bps
Upload 612,200 bps
QOS 93%
RTT 39 ms
MaxPause 67 ms

Cogeco

Number appears, but name doesn't.. it doesn't even appear on the web interface so its not my local equipment. The only time it comes up with name and number is if the person uses a V-ACCESS number. I've opened two tickets with Vonage and I never hear back anything. I'm kind of at a loss how you get something fixed if they just ignore your support calls.

I originally had the motorola box too and was constantly needing a reset. Vonage gave me a 40 dollar credit and I bought the Linksys wireless unit, same as you. There is much less need to reset this one. I think i've done it twice in a few months as opposed to twice a week!

When you did your test was it from the wi-fi or directly connected to router?

Are you not getting any names on your call display or just some calls?

Good call on the wireless, moved to landline on my speedtest and things are better.

Summary
This report refers to a connection test carried out by IP address [hidden] on Dec 1, 2007 10:13:43 AM using the applet.

Download speed 9342 Kbps (socket test)
Upload speed 608 Kbps (socket test)
Quality of service 95 %
Maximum pause 43 ms
Round trip time 38 ms
Upstream jitter 2.6 ms
Upstream packet loss 0 %
Upstream packet order 100 %
Upstream discards 0 %
Downstream jitter 8.2 ms
Downstream packet loss 0 %
Downstream packet order 100 %
Downstream discards 0 %

I'm on Cogeco and live in Milton, ON. From what i've seen on the forums, it would appear that Vonage 905 & Call Name don't mesh. I don't know why exactly that matters but perhaps its because they HQ in Canada in Mississauga which would be 905. I don't get name display on any call, _ever_ unless they use the V-ACCESS. Then I get it always. ie if my mother in law calls our 905 number direct, i get her number, if she uses v-access her name and number pops up. I get local calls, out of area calls etc, all kinds of numbers that on my bell ine gave me name & number, and Vonage, I get nothing. Crazy frustrating. Even worse because I think most other companies would a> fix the problem b> compensate the customer

I use Vonage with Cogeco in Cobourg, and in Brazil with a pretty dismal DSL provider with a 1 meg connection. (I go back and forth). It works well, 99% of the time, in both locations. I constantly receive calls from 905 numbers, and names show up. However, I did go through a period of a couple of months about a year ago when names were not showing up from anywhere. Vonage support fixed the problem about a week after I complained.
