When you sign in to Vonage Talk, make sure that you use the same username and password that you use to log in to your web account. If you're still getting "Calling Unavailable," it may be an issue on Vonage's end. How is your network setup?

Ok I have figured something out and maybe you can help me with this. First when I downloaded Vonage talk to the laptop, it was working, then it stopped working, saying calling unavailable and if i tried to make a call this error came up "sip account is not connected". Vonage talk was working on the second computer which is connected with an ethernet cable to my belkin g wireless router. well i connected the laptop to the internet via an ethernet cable instead of using the inbuilt wireless and now it works!??? What is the problem here? I have a webstar cable modem, the belkin wireless g router and now both my computers are connected to the belkin router via ethernet cables. The thing is that I want to be able to hook up the laptop to a wireless network anywhere and be able to use Vonage talk so what is the solution to this? I'm confused. I have Zone Alarm on both computers.

When the laptop is connected via wi-fi are you having any issues connecting to the internet? Go to website that you have never visited before to see if it is actually connecting.

Is your wi-fi connecting secured, if so make sure you have the correct password to connect.

I run VT on my laptop which is wi-fi and I am not having any issues.

So Vonage Talk works on the laptop when you're connected by LAN but it does not work when you're connected by WLAN. Check your firewall settings and make sure the settings are the same for LAN and WLAN.

I have no problem with the internet connection via wi-fi and i've checked the firewall settings in Zone Alarm and all applications for Vonage is allowed. I talked to someone at Belkin support and he suggested me to enable UPNP whatever that is. I enabled it and now it works. That's great but what if i stay in a hotel etc where i connect to a wireless network, then what?

I have used it in a hotel using wi-fi and didn't have any problems.

Well i hope it will work now if i'm taking the decision to use Vonage Talk instead of bringing a Vonage adapter. Another question, the calls i make through Vonage talk, are they going to be charged? I can't see the calls i have made when i login to my Vonage account.

The calls that you make with Vonage Talk do not currently appear in your call log when you log in to your web account; at some point in the future they may. What calling plan are you on? If you're on the unlimited, all your calls within the unlimited agreement will be covered and no charges will apply. If you're on the 500 minute paln, it is limited to 500 minutes outgoing but unlimited on incoming calls.

I am positive you won't have any problems, but don't forget you are going to be on a wi-fi network which is going to be shared with other users so the call quality may not be what you are getting at home.

I'm on the basic plan but will probably switch to the unlimited one at this point, it's not so much more anyway.
I really want to thank you for your help. I've gotten replies real quick and i appreciate it alot.
