Post subject: VTech IP800 Power Adaptar not working
I have had the VTech IP800 with one handset since July 2006 when I got
Vonage
. Today when I got home I went to check the VM waiting light and I noticed that the Ready light was not even on. I checked other devices that were plugged into the power strip and they all worked. So I unpluged the base and pluged it into another power outlet that I know worked and still nothing. So I called the VTech Customer Support number on the bottom of the base and was told by the IVR that since it is over a year old to buy a new one at a discount.
So, I turned around and called
Vonage
tech support. I explained to them the problem and they asked me to plug the adaptar back in and to hit the "Page" button. I did and the headset said base is pageing and made the tones. They said it is the power adaptar from the outlet to the base that is broken and will send me a new one by UPS. However, they said it could take 3 to 5 days, so until I get it, I don't have any
Vonage
service.
Has this happen to anyone else?

Turns out there is a known issue with the power adapter on this model dying.
