Not sure this is the right place, so I apologize in advance if not:
I currently have two cell phones, business and personal, but am tired of paying for two full plans and carrying around two devices. I'm looking for a low-cost solution to have the personal number forwarded to the business cell. So my interest in Vonage is primarily in call-forwarding and LNP. In fact, I can live without making calls with the personal number at all, as long as I can access forwarding controls.
Looks like $10 Softphone isn't an option because no LNP and it's only bundled with existing accounts, right? So I assume the $15 plan is my best option, and if required to buy a device I'd rather have a V-Phone, I think, than another network device lying around. Can I get a $15 plan without buying the V-Phone or router hardware, or do I need it to receive calls (remembering that I'm looking to call forward, not to receive on Vonage itself)? If I can not have a device, can I still use Vonage Talk on my PC to make outbound calls (might as well use the 500 minutes, since I only anticipate about 150 minutes of call-forwarding)?
Or is Vonage and V-Phone wrong for me and I should be looking at other services? LNP seems to be the sticking point with cheaper services, which is why I'm here.
Thanks for any advice! |
