The service that I have received with Vonage has been horrible, it took them almost 4 days to activate our vphone. Then, we had trouble using the service, which we found out was due to the fact that they had mixed our profile with someone else. The result, we had to wait another couple days to get another number.

Once we did get the vphone activated, the connection was horrible.t I could catch one word with about every 20 said. I kept trying it out for another couple weeks and finally just gave up. Then, seeing as we were still in the trial period, I called to cancel the vphone and service. I was then told that I would need to send back the vphone and that a charge was going to hit my credit card until I returned the vphone. Come to find out, seeing as I had purchased my vphone at Target (Retail Location as they say), this was no longer a necessary requirement. I have now contacted Vonage 4 times (all to Account Mgmt) to try and get a credit. I was told the first time that I needed to verify my credit card number so they can match the credit back, then they hung up. Next time, I was told a full refund would be processed within 24 hours. The 3rd time said that I would have to take this up with Target. The 4th time I was sent to Billing, where I was told to sit on hold while they sort things out. I was on hold for 15 minutes, so I gave up. They had taken my number and said they would call back if we were disconnected, that was 2 days ago.

I'm completely frustrated and am ready to officially file a complaint against these guys, since they are making it so difficult to complete the disconnection. I have nothing to return to Target, since all they do is sell the vphones, not the service. The customer service is horrible and the service in general is spotty!! Can anyone offer some advice on how to put this issue to rest with Vonage without filing a full on complaint to the BBB? All I want is the money owed back to me!!!!!!

I also tried to cancel my V-Phone today. I replaced my Vista laptop with a Mac and can no longer use the V-Phone. I have had it 5 months. I have a regular Vonage account that has been in place for 3 years so I added a Softphone to it for use when I travel with the Mac. Adding was very easy but when I asked to cancel the V-Phone I got transferred to a different agent who spent 20 minutes trying to convince me to keep the V-Phone despite the fact I cannot use it any more. In the end I put it on "hold" for the next several months (at 4.99 a month) because it was cheaper than the $40 cancellation fee. When my acct. is active for a year I can cancel with no penalty. This despite my other active account and my new softphone. These guys are really really frustrating to deal with.
